Remember America Series To Host Institute Founder
Dr. Marshall Foster
Dayspring Christian Academy's first installment of the 2012 Remember America Speaker Series will bring Dr. Marshall Foster, founder of the World History Institute, to the school, located at 120 College Ave. in Mountville, on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
For 30 years, Foster has inspired Americans from all walks of life to return to what he considers as the biblical and historical foundations of liberty and to God, whom he believes has richly blessed the nation. Foster contends that Christianity is what made America great and that every Christian is called to be a liberator because they have been set free.
Foster is collaborating as a co-writer with actor Kirk Cameron on a film titled Monumental: In Search of America's National Treasure, which is expected to be released in theaters in March. The film depicts a modern interpretation of the Founding Fathers strategy to save America. The basis of the film revolves around the National Monument to the Forefathers in Plymouth, Mass., which is a large statue commemorating the Mayflower Pilgrims and the ideals they embraced. Foster notes that the monument lays out the blueprint to reclaim America's biblical foundation. He plans to share his thoughts on the film, as well as preview a trailer of it, at the Remember America event.
"(The monument depicts Faith, and Faith is pointing to God and has an open Geneva Bible in the right hand and a star of wisdom," Foster said. "So ... if you want wisdom to live life, to be free, to do all things, it must involve faith in the Almighty through Christ; it must involve the Bible giving you wisdom (so that) your mind is enlightened."
In 1976, Foster and his wife, Trish, founded the Mayflower Institute (later the World History Institute), a nonprofit educational foundation that has spread worldwide what they consider as the gospel of liberty, teaching the biblical foundations of Constitutional government, the free enterprise system, and traditional education. Foster has trained tens of thousands of people through live seminars in 31 states, as well as in Canada and Europe, and his weekly syndicated half-hour radio broadcast, "Our American Inheritance," reaches even more.
Foster has written three books and numerous syndicated articles. In addition, the World History Institute has produced numerous educational seminars, such as The Constitution and the Bill of Rights; The American Covenant; The Untold Story; The Life and Character of George Washington; and more. With Foster's leadership, the institute trains people in a biblical worldview and its application to modern culture.
Dayspring's Remember America Speaker Series is designed to remind Americans of their unique heritage of liberty that was founded upon biblical principles. The series is intended to feature high-caliber speakers who can cogently articulate their message, based on their own research of original sources, to the community.
