Four Libraries Receive Grants

Four Chester County libraries will receive more than $19,000 in total grant funding to enhance local services and improve access to materials. The grants, which are administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education's Office of Commonwealth Libraries, included $5,000 each to Henrietta Hankin Library, Coatesville Area Public Library, and the Easttown Library and Information Center. An additional $4,393 for the Chester Springs Library was awarded.

The funds will be used to support library collections and innovative projects that offer hands-on experiences with science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics to school-aged children and teens. The highly competitive grants come as part of $345,430 in total funding awarded to 34 public, school, and academic libraries throughout the Commonwealth under the Library Services and Technology Act.
